The South Gippsland region contains some of the most diverse scenery in all of Gippsland. With the magnificent Strzelecki Ranges as the northern border, and to the south, the southern most point of Australia in the wild waters of Bass Strait, lies Wilsons Promontory National Park, renowned for its bushwalks, coastal scenery and wildlife.

The area is renowned for its dairy farming and lush pastures and boasts having the largest butter factory in the Southern Hemisphere.
