At the coast, spend some time and relax and
enjoy the cool clear waters, long sandy beaches, spectacular cliffs and rock pools.
Wade through rock pools, paddle in the clear waters of Bass Strait and discover the
abundance of marine life, at the numerous marine parks and reserves. Or explore the magnificent and huge eucalypt forests in the high
country, with their diverse flora and fauna. Travel by car and follow the tourist trails
or be more adventurous and walk the many and varied tracks. This is where you will hear
the wild birds calling or see the native animals in their natural habitat. |
On those warm unpleasant days, visit the many
precious pockets of cool rainforests and let the temperature difference bring you back to
earth. At the other end, in the winter season the Baw Baw Plateau provides ample snow for
the ski enthusiast, with Mount Baw Baw being the closest ski resort to the City of
Melbourne.
